Three Years of Aragon: 2 Million Users, 40 Million Photos, and the Future of AI Photography
In early 2023, we built Aragon because we saw how hard it was to get a decent professional headshot. Booking photographers took weeks. Shoots cost hundreds of dollars. And after all that effort, you'd walk away with maybe two usable photos.
We thought there had to be a better way. Turns out, 2 million people agreed with us.
Today marks three years since we launched. Here's what we've accomplished:

The real story isn't in these numbers. It's in what people are building with Aragon.
Real problems we're solving
Time. Nestor spent weeks trying to book a photographer. He tried Aragon: "The lighting, details, and overall finish were just flawless. I looked like I had a full photoshoot done by a top-tier photographer."
Accessibility. Shekinah shared how she was able to skip the hassle of scheduling an in-person shoot that would require a lot of time and effort. “It's amazing that I was able to achieve this level of quality without having to schedule a studio photoshoot or invest in pricey outfits. The application makes the entire process incredibly easy and accessible."
Scale. Foundation Academy needed headshots for 200 staff across three campuses. Director of Communications Joe Cioffi solved it in two hours with Aragon: "So to get photos for 200 people with a photographer would take at least days, if not weeks, to get that done… I was able to solve that need in two hours with Aragon.”
From headshots to a complete photo platform
Year One was about proving Aragon could match traditional photography quality. We focused on professional headshots and built the foundation of our technology.
Year Two brought expansion. We launched glamour photos, old money aesthetic shots, travel photos, and dating profile pictures. The use cases kept growing because the core problem stayed the same: traditional photography is expensive, slow, and complicated.
Year Three introduced customization. Remix launched in May, letting users change outfits, backgrounds, and poses. Our editing tools gave users complete control. We further scaled to Fortune 500 companies, solving team photography at scale.
Year Four is about becoming the #1 platform for AI generation, AI tools, and so many others More photo packs. More editing tools. More control. We're not just an AI headshot company anymore. We're building the infrastructure for anyone to create any photo they need, instantly.
Building the company
We're a team of 15. Multiple Ex-founders, AI researchers, International Math Olympiad medalists, and alumni from MIT, Meta, Google, and Brex. For most of our existence, we've worked remotely across different time zones.
Last November, we met in Japan to celebrate three years in business, revenue milestones, new product launches, and team promotions.
We've hit 8-figures in annual recurring revenue and reached profitability. Our investors include Neo, Sequoia's Scout Fund, and the founders of publicly traded companies and unicorns. We've been featured in The Information, The Washington Post, and Business Insider.
